Bourbon Soaked Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Chocolate-covered strawberries are a classic, sweet, and delicious Valentine’s Day treat. We kicked it up a notch and added our Monk’s Road Bourbon to the recipe. We went with a ‘hint’ of bourbon flavor, but if you want them stronger feel free to leave them soaking longer.

Ingredients

     Monk’s Road Bourbon
     Fresh Strawberries
     Toothpicks
Chocolate for dipping (milk, dark, or white)

Directions

In a colander, wash all of your strawberries. Using a toothpick, poke 7-8 holes near the bottom of each berry. Next, stand strawberries in a bowl leaf side up. Pour Monk’s Road Bourbon halfway up the berries and soak them at room temperature for an hour. After an hour, remove strawberries from the bourbon and drain them on paper towels. Next, you’ll melt the chocolate according to the directions on the package. Insert a toothpick down through the top of the strawberry and wipe dry with a paper towel then dip into the chocolate covering about two-thirds of the strawberry. Lay the dipped strawberries on a wax paper-lined tray and refrigerate. Strawberries should be eaten within 24 hours.
